Our favorite baby carrier
Let’s be honest - no one can feasibly hold a child in their arms 24/7 all the time. How do parents do all the other things you need to do like drink your coffee (or beer), text, or go on Instagram when you always have to hold your baby?!
In all seriousness, when we had our first kid, my wife and I wanted to find a baby carrier that we could both use because we knew we would need the extra hands to function in society. We needed a baby carrier that was comfortable, easy to take on and off, gave enough back support for our aging bodies, and breathable (no sweat marks under the baby carrier, please).
Having a baby carrier was so essential for us - not only to give us the free hands to do other stuff, but it was always the best way to get our kids to stop crying and fall asleep when we were running errands or out for the day. This is why our baby carrier was our savior - it enabled us to get out of the house, have a free set of hands, soothe our babies to get them to nap and let us function like normal adults!
Instead of listing out all of the different carriers we considered and researched, we’re just going to throw it out there and tell you the one we swear by, the one that was our savior with young babies, and one that we will tell all of our friends who are future parents:
Get the Lillebaby All Seasons Baby Carrier!
We did a lot of research on carriers and ended up choosing the Lillebaby All Seasons Baby Carrier for a few key reasons. We really wanted one that would give our babies (and ourselves) enough comfort and support to last through our long walks (and long shopping outings my wife would make them/us endure). This carrier gave us all of us this comfort and so much more.
First off, this carrier has many carrying positions to last through the multiple stages of your baby’s growth (front-facing or back-facing). It can even support a newborn without needing any additional inserts. There is enough padding for babies to feel secure and snug, it was perfect for rocking our youngest to sleep while we were out and about with our older one (and likely trying to chase him around as he was getting into things).
Another amazing feature the Lillebaby has is the ability to zip down the front panel so there can be increased airflow to the baby's back. Baby carriers are great at keeping babies comfortable but it sure can get warm for them (and us!) if they're in there for too long. This extra airflow provided that much-needed comfort and breathability that we needed.
Not only is the Lillebaby All Seasons baby carrier great for little ones, it is just as perfect for the person carrying the baby! The shoulder straps are well padded and there is great lumbar support with the extended back panel. Our old bodies needed this extra support and we appreciated the comfort that Lillebaby provided, especially after long days out with the kids when we took them to Disneyland, walks around downtown San Francisco, or just running errands up and down the shopping aisle.
Lastly, we can’t forget about how it looks - the Lillebaby has functional style with a large storage pocket, removable sleeping hood & extendable torso, looking great on both Mom and Dad. I never had to worry that my wife would want to swap and have me wear a flowery wrap or sling, as the Lillebaby’s style looked great for either one of us.
Baby carriers are so important because of the comfort and closeness you get with your baby, but even more important is the independence you get for your hands to do everything else you need to do, all while still ensuring your baby is happy and content!
